Here's an oldie but a goodie I found just last night. I painted this in highschool (1998) after I broke up with my first girlfriend. These days I burn through women like matches but back then it took me a year to recover. A friggin' year, people.
I miss making paintings like this. The style and even much of the imagry was stolen (brazenly so) from Dave Mckean's cover art for Skinny Puppy's BRAP. [link]

...I've felt the same...I used to consider the women i dated to be an ideal image of a woman I wanted...and I made art, because of them..it used to take me years and years to get over them...now I'm 25 and jaded about love so like you say, I burn through women too...I'm blocked when it comes to inspired art from love...oh well...
